Logan Schuchart cashes in with Eldora Million triumph

Logan Schuchart earned $1,000,000 at Eldora

Logan Schuchart had been having a good season coming into this weekend at Eldora Speedway but it immediately became a great season after he turned in a dominating performance to capture the Eldora Million. The driver of the No. 1A machine led every lap of the feature event to garner the richest prize ever offered in dirt racing history.

The Shark Racing driver from Hanover, Pennsylvania earned $1,002,023 from the track located in Rossberg, Ohio in a race aired live by FloRacing.com.

Feature Notes: The 50-lap feature began with Schuchart ahead of Sweet, Macedo, Reutzel and Gravel. On the secon dlap it was Gravel who made a move to wrest fourth away from Reutzel, However, Reutzel would come back a few laps later and retake fourth.

Schuchart began to slip away by lap 11. Further back, Larson passed Brown for sixth on lap 13 just one lap before Macedo grabbed the runner-up position from Sweet. Larson then broke into the top-5 at the same time.

The planned red flag was displayed on lap 20 giving drivers and crews an opportunity to make changes. At that time, Schuchart led Macedo, Sweet, Reutzel, Larson, Gravel, Brown, Bayston, Abreu and Peck.

When green flag action resumed, Larson, Scelzi, Reutzel, McHugh and Bayston were involved in a wild crash that saw multiple cars flip. All drivers were reported to be uninjured. After the crash, Schuchart led Macedo, Sweet, Gravel and Brown.

Sweet and Macedo exchanged the second spot multiple times over the next couple of laps. Brown and Gravel also fought for fourth just behind.

By lap 35, Schuchart built a lead of two seconds over Macedo and Sweet. As the race approached the 10-to-go mark Abreu challenged Brown for fifth, ultimately taking the spot. Five laps later, that lead was over three seconds.

In the end, it was Logan Schuchart who would claim the biggest prize in the history of dirt racing.
