Live Updates: Xtreme DIRTcar Winter Series at Volunteer(12-7-19)

InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the Grinch 40 Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Winter Series event at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Saturday afternoon, December 7, 2019. The updates will be provided by Richard Allen(@RichardAllenIDR on Twitter and @RichardAllenIDR on Instagram).

These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The 2019 season has concluded at SMS but schedule information for next year will be released in the coming weeks.

Classes in action: Xtreme DIRTcar Winter Series for $5,000-to-win(40 laps) as well as the track’s other classes.

*Please Note: These updates will focus solely on the Super Late Model race.

General Information:

Weather is expected to be cool with no chance for rain.

The drivers meeting is slated for 12:00pm with hot laps to follow soon afterward.

This is the second ever Xtreme DIRTcar Winter Series race and the second of six scheduled for the winter of 2019-20.

Chris Madden won the inaugural event in the Blue-Gray 100 at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC. Ross Bailes, Jimmy Owens, Michael Brown and Brandon Overton followed Madden the finish line in that race co-sanctioned by the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series.

Lap 15 caution. Strickler has led all the way but the top-5 were very close in traffic. Moses, Buckingham, Madden, Mitchell, Hedgecock, Chilton, Overton, Ferguson and Roberson round out the top-10.

Lap 16 caution for spin by Harris. Strickler leads but Buckingham and Madden got by Moses to take 3rd and 4th on the last restart.

Lap 33 caution for Ivey. Madden took the lead on lap 22. Strickler is second followed by Buckingham. Ferguson, Overton and Mitchell have throwing sliders at each other racing for 4th-6th. McIntosh, Hedgecock, Roberson and Moses run 7-10.
