InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series race from Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN on Saturday evening, April 28, 2018. These updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

*Please Note: These updates will focus primarily on the WoO Late Models race.

General Information:

Drivers meeting is set for 6:00pm.

Weather is expected to be dry and mild.

This is the second of a two-night event. Both features will pay $10,000-to-win.

These races were originally slated for early March but were postponed due to weather. This is the first event weekend of the season at Smoky Mountain Speedway.

Heat Race Results: There will be three heat races with the top-6 from each transferring to the feature. The top-2 from each heat will go to the redraw that will determine the first three rows on the starting grid. Heat winners will draw for spots 1-3 while the second place finishers will draw for positions 4-6.

*Sheppard took the lead at the start with Knuckles staying in his tire tracks throughout.

*Chilton took the lead at the start and pulled away. The closest battle was between Moran and Eckert.

Lap 2 caution for Breazeale. McDowell leads Sheppard, Madden, Chilton, Buckingham, Knuckles

Lap 12- McDowell and Madden tight for the lead in traffic.

Lap 26 caution for Overton off the pace. McDowell and Madden were tight in traffic for the lead. Sheppard, Chilton, Buckingham, Knuckles, Moran, Clanton were stacked up behind a lapped car about 10 car lengths behind the lead duo.

Lap 47 caution for flat tire on Bagley. Racing has been single-file with McDowell leading Madden, Sheppard, Chilton, Buckingham, Knuckles, Moran, Clanton, Junghans, Marlar, Ferguson, Roberts, Eckert

Moran had a flat tire coming to the white flag.
