Live Updates: Ultimate SLM from North Georgia Speedway(3-2-19)

InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the opening night of the Ultimate Super Late Model Series season at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA on Saturday night, March 2, 2019. The updates will be provided by Richard Allen(@RichardAllenIDR on Twitter and @RichardAllenIDR on Instagram).

These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The next event coming to SMS will be the 6th annual ‘Tennessee Tipoff’ featuring the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on Saturday night, March 9, 2019.

Classes in action: Ultimate Super Late Model Series for $4,000-to-win(40 laps). There will be several of the track’s regular classes in action as well. 

*Please Note: These updates will focus solely on the Ultimate SLM race.

General Information:

The drivers meeting is slated for 5:30pm with hot laps to follow soon afterward.

Weather is expected to be cool with only a slight chance for rain.

This will be the season opener for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series

Zack Mitchell was the 2018 USLMS champion.

6:05- Drivers meeting underway.

6:40- Hot laps underway for all classes.

7:30- Super Late Model hot laps underway.

8:30- We are experiencing delays due to an issue with the track’s timing and scoring system.

8:55- Supers are lining up to qualify.

9:06- Supers rolling out to qualify.

Lap 10- Page in heavy traffic leads Hiett, Overton, Millwood and Hedgecock

Lap 15 caution for Wilson stopped on track. Page had built a nice lead but traffic slowed him a bit. Page leads Hiett, Overton, Millwood, Hedgecock, Clanton, King, McIntosh, Leonhardi, Hickman

Lap 27 caution for Cloer stopped on track. Page still leads but Hiett was challenging. Overton, Clanton and Hedgecock round out the top-5.
