Live Updates: Topless Outlaws & All-Star Crates at Smoky Mountain

InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the Topless Outlaws Dirt Late Model Series and the American Crate All-Star Series event at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN on Saturday evening, May 23, 2020. The updates will be provided by Richard Allen(@RichardAllenIDR on Twitter and @RichardAllenIDR on Instagram).

These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The next event there will be the “Memorial Day Mayhem in the Mountains” American Crate All-Stars Series and the Topless Outlaws Late Model Series on May 23, 2020.

Classes in action: Topless Outlaws Late Model Series for $3,000-to-win and the American Crate All-Star Series for $3,000-to-win. Some of the other classes that regularly compete at the track will be in action. 

*These updates will focus solely on the Topless Late Models and the Crate Late Models.  

General Information:

Weather is expected to be warm with little to no chance for rain.

Hot laps are scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.

This will be the second race of the 2020 season for the Topless Outlaws Late Model Series.

This will also be the second race of the 2020 season for the American Crate All-Star Series.

This is night two of a double-header weekend for the Topless Outlaws and the second night of a triple-header weekend for the American All-Star Crate Series.

Both series raced at Volunteer Speedway on Friday night. The All-Star Crates will race at Crossville Speedway on Sunday evening.

Kyle Courtney was the winner of the Topless Outlaws race at Volunteer while Trevor Sise won the All-Star Crate feature in Bulls Gap.

6:35- Drivers meeting about to commence.

6:45- Drivers meeting has ended. Hot laps will begin soon.

7:20- Hot laps for all classes underway.

8:35- Qualifying underway.

8:45- Just had a car lose an engine. Cleaning up oil on the track.

Qualifying Results: There will be two qualifying groups with the top-6 from each being locked into the feature. The top-3 from each group will participate in a pill draw to set the top-6 on the starting grid.
