These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The next event coming to SMS will be the Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals on August 16, 2019.
Classes in action: Southern Nationals for $5,300-to-win(53 laps) as well as the track’s other classes.
*Please Note: These updates will focus solely on the Southern Nationals race.
General Information:
Weather is expected to be warm with a slight chance for rain.
The drivers meeting is slated for 6:30pm with hot laps to follow soon afterward.
This will be the fifth Southern Nationals race to take place in 2019. Rain outs at Toccoa Speedway and Senoia Raceway dropped those two events from the schedule.
Brandon Overton’s two wins have placed him at the top of the series standings followed by Jake Knowles, Donald McIntosh, Tanner English and Cla Knight. Trent Ivey and Ross Bailes have also won Southern Nationals features.
