Classes in action: Southern Nationals Super Late Models for $3,500-to-win(35 laps), Crate Late Models for $1200-to-win, and Sportsman for $700-to-win.

General Information: 

Drivers meeting is set for 6:30.

Weather is expected to be very warm.

Vic Hill won the first race in the Southern Nationals mini-series on Saturday night at Wythe Raceway in Virginia while Brandon Overton to the checkered flag on Monday night at North Carolina’s Tri-County Race Track.

7:00- Drivers meeting about to begin.

7:20- Hot laps have begun for all divisions.

Fastest in Southern Nationals hot laps were McIntosh, Buckingham, Vosbergen, Overton and Crabtree.

*Hickman took the lead on the start then held off a race-long challenge from Overton.

Heat 2 Finish- 1. Buckingham, 2. Lloyd, 3. Ogle, 4. Neely

*Buckingham led all the way.

Heat 3 Finish- 1. Casebolt, 2. Cardwell, 3. Roland, 4. Collins

*Cardwell took the early lead but Casebolt moved around him on lap 5.

Caution just before the completion of lap 1. Hill, Casebolt, Hickman, Crabtree, Neely, Vosbergen involved. Complete restart.

Lap 9 caution. Barton and Vosbergen involved. McIntosh leads Doherty, Hill, Knowles, Cardwell, Hickman, Buckingham, King, Roland, Overton.

Race ran caution free after lap 9. McIntosh dominated. Hill and Doherty had a good race for second.

Lap 5 caution for Jerry Green hitting turn 4 wall then getting into the catch fence. Ballenger also involved. Red flag now out.

Hedgecock leads White, Welshan, Martin and Lowe.

10:11- Cars have fired their engines to restart the race. Did not appear as if there were any serious injuries.

Race was shortened to 20 laps due to time constraints.
