*Please Note: These updates will focus solely on the LOLMDS race.
General Information:
The drivers meeting is slated for 4:30pm with Hot Laps set for 5:00pm.
The weather forecast calls for clearing skies by evening with lows dropping into the upper 30s.
This race is named in honor of Edwin Coggins, a race fan who passed away at the track last year.
This is a non-points event for the the LOLMDS. Friday and Saturday nights will be points races for the LOLMDS.
4:15- The pits are filling up nicely. The drivers meeting is set for a few minutes from now. I’ll post a full list after that.
4:30- Drivers meeting underway.
5:00- Engines have fired in the pit area.
5:15- Hot laps are underway.
Fastest in hot laps: Group 1- Madden(14.746), Group 2- Carrier(14.936), Group 3- Landers(15.067), Group 4- Bloomquist(15.151).
Fastest in the second hot laps session: Group 1- EPJ(15.488), Group 2- Carrier(15.613), Group 3- Papich(15.713), Group 4- Davenport (15.529).
East Tennessee drivers: McCarter was 5th in group 3, McIntosh was 5th in group 2 and Owens was 7th in group 4.
5:55- Drivers are actually doing a second hot lap session.
6:45- Qualifying now about to begin.

Group A top-4- 1. Pearson (15.347), 2. Carrier, 3. Franklin, 4. Madden. EPJ was a half-second faster than everyone else.
Group B top-4- 1. Davenport(15.172), 2. Ferguson, 3. Owens, 4. Francis. Davenport fastest overall.
Landers did not qualify. It looks as if he missed his assigned time. He had a very animated discussion with series officials.
Heat Race Results:
Top-4 from each heat and top-4 from each B-main will transfer to the feature.
Heat 1 lineup: 1. Pearson, 2. Franklin, 3. Sheppard, 4. Scott, 5. Roberts, 6. Schlieper, 7. McIntosh, 8. Sanders
Heat 1 finish: 1. Pearson, 2. Sheppard, 3. Scott, 4. Franklin. Pearson first had to hold off Scott, who actually took the lead but had it negated by a caution, then Sheppard. Scott put on quite a show up against the cushion. Pearson will start the feature from the pole.
Heat 2 lineup: 1. Carrier, 2. Madden, 3. O’Neal, 4. Satterlee, 5. R Brown, 6. C Brown, 7. Benedum, 8. Guy
Heat 2 finish: 1. Carrier, 2. Satterlee, 3. O’Neal, 4. Benedum. Carrier drove away for the win. Madden(possible drive shaft) broke on the first lap.
Heat 3 lineup: 1. Davenport, 2. Owens, 3. Bloomquist, 4. Moran, 5. Bailes, 6. Kirkpatrick, 7. McCarter, 8. Sessoms, 9. Simons.
Heat 3 finish: 1. Davenport, 2. Owens, 3. Bailes, 4. Bloomquist. Owens took the lead at the start but Davenport used the high line to retake the top spot at halfway. Bailes passes Bloomquist for 3rd on a lap 6 restart.
Heat 4 lineup: 1. Ferguson, 2. Francis, 3. Bronson, 4. Pettyjohn, 5. Rettig, 6. Papich, 7. Moyer, 8. Landers
Heat 4 finish: 1. Francis, 2. Moyer, 3. Pettyjohn, 4. Rettig. Bronson got into Pettyjohn on the first start with Papich also being collected. The same had an issue on the second start as well. Ferguson blew while leading on lap 3.
B-main 1 finish: 1. C Brown, 2. Roberts, 3. R Brown, 4. McIntosh.
B-main 2 finish: 1. Moran, 2. Kirkpatrick. They were the only two cars to show up for the race.
Chris Madden and Kelly Guy added to the feature due to only two cars attempting second B-main.

Lap 10 caution for Scott and McIntosh getting together on front stretch. Davenport leads Sheppard, Pearson, Carrier, Francis, Scott, Bailes, Satterlee. Owens and Moyer have pulled off.
Davenport comes to a stop under caution. He’s out.
Lap 24 caution for McIntosh stopped on track. Sheppard had a big lead but was in heavy traffic at the time of the caution. Carrier, Pearson, Francis and Bailes round out top-5.
Lap 26 caution for 5th running Bailes stopped on track. Sheppard still leads over Carrier, Pearson, Francis, Scott, Satterlee, Bloomquist.

Pearson broke on the final restart. Sheppard jumped the cushion in turn one on the final lap and rolled the nose under the car. It wouldn’t turn when he got to 3&4.
