InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the ‘Mountain Moonshine Classic’ Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Models and Durrence Layne Crate Late Models event at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN on Saturday evening, June 29, 2019. The updates will be provided by Richard Allen(@RichardAllenIDR on Twitter and @RichardAllenIDR on Instagram).

These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The next event coming to SMS will be the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals on July 16, 2019.

Classes in action: Iron-Man Super Late Models for 3,000-to-win along with Durrence Layne Crate Late Models for $3,000-to-win. Brucebilt Modifieds will also be in action for $2,000-to-win. 

*Please Note: These updates will focus on the Iron-Man and Durrence Layne races.

General Information:

Weather is expected to be warm with little chance for rain.

The drivers meeting is slated for 6:30pm with hot laps to follow soon afterward.

Robby Moses leads the Iron-Man Late Model standings.

Ashton Winger won the Iron-Man Late Models feature on Friday night in Crossville, TN.

The Iron-Man Late Model Series has contested five races in 2019 with five different winners.

Jake Knowles leads the Durrence Layne Crate Late Model standings.

The Durrence Layne Series has contested four races in 2019 with four different winners.

6:45- Drivers meeting underway.

7:10- Hot laps for all classes about to begin.

Halfway- caution free. Winger pulling away but a tight battle for second between McIntosh, Hedgecock and Chilton.

Lap 18 caution. Turman, McIntosh and Chilton involved. Chilton has retired to the pit area. McIntosh continuing with right side damage. Turman is out.

Lap 5 caution for Ford off the pace. Hedgecock leads Williams, Herrington, Skinner, Kennedy.

Halfway- Hedgecock and Williams in a tight race for the lead.

Williams closed in and made a bid for the lead on lap 22 then Hedgecock drove away to win by a comfortable margin.
