These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The next race scheduled for SMS will be the Brickmill Bash for the American Pro Late Model All-Star Series and the Red Clay 602 Series on July 9, 2022.

Weather Forecast: Sunny with high temperatures in the 90s. There is a chance for scattered thundershowers.

Time: Drivers meeting scheduled for 7:00.

Feature Payout: $5,000(40 laps)

Track Description: Third-mile clay oval

Other Classes: Sportsman Late Models, Classics, Street Stocks and Four Cylinders

Pre-race Notes: Coming into the weekend, Michael Chilton was leading the Iron-Man standings.

Donald McIntosh won Friday’s Iron-Man event at Boyd’s Speedway and Eli Beets won at Lake Cumberland Speedway.

6:10- Raining here at the track.

6:19- It has stopped raining and the sun is out.

6:45- Drivers meeting underway. May be a little late getting started because of the rain shower.

8:10- SLM hot laps underway.

Trammell pulls off on the pace lap.

10:55- Green flag

Knuckles into the turn 3 wall on the first attempt at a start. Shockley was collected. Looks like both appear to be done for the night.

Trammell returns to the track. No laps have been scored yet.

Lap 5 caution for debris. Neely leads Weiss, Chilton, Beets, Hill, Boles

Lap 8 caution as Eads looses a left rear wheel. Neely leads Weiss, Chilton, Beets, Hill

Lap 16 caution as smoke and fluid come from Wolfenbarger’s car. Neely leads Chilton, Weiss, Hill, Beets, Boles, Tharp

Lap 23- Weiss to the lead

Lap 31 caution was initially called for debris. At that same moment, Neely and Chilton were battling for second with Neely sent spinning. Hill was then collected.

Neely got out of his car under caution. Series officials have declared him done for the night.

Weiss leads Chilton, Hill, Beets, Boles, Tharp and Smith. Those are the only cars left running.
