We will be providing live updates from the SteelHead Nationals event from the 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN on Saturday night, October 25, 2014. Tonight’s updates are being provided by Brady Cupp.

Classes in action: 

Steelhead Late Models for $3,500-to-win.

Sportsman Late Models, Street Stocks, and Mini Stocks for $1,000 each. Classic Cars will also be racing

Time:

Drivers meeting is scheduled for 4:45 with racing to follow soon afterwards.

Weather: 

The forecast calls for clear skies and mild fall temperatures.

General Information:

This event is the 8th annual running on the SteelHead Nationals. The prior seven events have seen seven different winners.

Live Updates: Drivers meeting underway. Over 100 total cars signed in. 

Jason Welshan will be looking for his 34th overall win tonight. Billy Ogle Jr is driving the Steel Head Late Model owned by Mark Leach.

Starting field will be determined from the finishes of four heat races.

First heat race finish: Jason Cardwell, Cory Hedgecock, Ross White, Anthony White

Second heat race finish: Jason Welshan, Jensen Ford, Ryan King, Eddie King Jr

Third heat race finish: Greg Estes, Bobby Giffin, Ruben Mayfield, Greg Huskey

Fourth heat race finish: Billy Ogle Jr, Greg Martin, Brian Courtney, Josh Henry

 

Feature Notes: Jason Cardwell and Jason Welshan on the front row of the 50 lap feature.

Lap one: Welshan leads over Cardwell, Ogle, Hedgecock and Martin. Greg Estes drops out.

Lap ten: Welshan pulls out to a 10 car length lead. Ogle battling Cardwell for second.

Lap fifteen :Welshan weaving his way through lap traffic .

Lap twenty three: Hedgecock takes second away from Cardwell. Great battle!

Caution on lap twenty eight for Brian Courtney spinning on his own in turn two.

On the restart Hedgecock went to the outside of Welshan on the back stretch.  Welshan shut the door in turn three.

Lap thirty five: Hedgecock passes Welshan on the back stretch only to have the caution come out.

Lap forty: Welshan still leads. Hedgecock using every inch of the track trying to gain ground

Lap forty three: Hedgecock makes contact with Welshan going for the lead in turn three. Welshan goes out with heavy front suspension damage. Hedgecock out also with damage. Cardwell your new leader followed by Ogle, Martin, Eddie King Jr. and Giffin.

Jason Cardwell becomes the eighth different winner of the Steel Head Nationals.
