Live Updates: American Crate A-S Series & Limited Late Models at Smoky Mtn

Facebooktwitter will be providing live updates from the ‘Memorial Day Mayhem in the Mountains’ American Crate All-Star Series and Limited Late Models event at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN on Saturday evening, May 24, 2019. The updates will be provided by Richard Allen(@RichardAllenIDR on Twitter and @RichardAllenIDR on Instagram).

These updates are brought to you by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. The next event coming to SMS will be the “Lucas Oil Big Daddy 75” for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on June 15, 2019.

Classes in action: American Crate All-Stars for 2,000-to-win along with Limited Late Models for $2,000-to-win. Sportsman Late Models will also be in action for $1,200-to-win. 

*Please Note: These updates will focus on the American Crate All Star Series and Limited Late Model races.

General Information:

Weather is expected to be warm with little chance for rain.

The drivers meeting is slated for 6:30pm with hot laps to follow soon afterward.

Aaron Guinn currently leads the American Crate All-Star standings over Anthony White, Ross White, Jake Teague, Clay Coghlan and Josh Henry.

7:20- Hot laps for all classes underway.

American Crate All Star Series

Drivers Here: Driver list will be updated within “Qualifying Results” and “Heat Race Results”.

Qualifying Results: The top-6 qualifiers will be locked into a fast car dash that will set the first three rows for the feature.

Heat Race Results: There will be four heats taking the top-3 from each to the feature.

Feature Notes:

11:27- Feature rolling out. 30 laps for $2,000.

11:33- Four wide!

11:35- Green flag!

Hedgecock bolted to the early lead but slowed suddenly on lap 2 and pulled off track. Ford leads Whitener and Teague.

Lap 10- Leader Ford slows suddenly and pulls off track. Whitener leads Teague, T Sise, Martin and Arrington.

Race ran caution free.

Great race. The top-6 were right on each other all the way. Teague passed Whitener for the lead on lap 28 when Whitener tangled with a slower car.

Lap 9 caution for Merritt. Hedgecock leads C King, Crabtree, Rodabaugh, Cardwell, R King, Giffin, Neely.

Lap 14 caution as 4th running Crabtree slows. Hedgecock had built a big lead. C King is second ahead of Cardwell, R King, Rodabaugh

Lap 28 caution for Tod Hernandez smoking heavily and Daniel Richards in the turn one wall. Hedgecock again had a big lead over a close battle between C King and Cardwell for second.
