As most of you know, the site’s co-founder, Richard Allen, decided to step away from Inside Dirt Racing almost a year ago. His decision was based on doing a site with his sons, one of which was the build a site from scratch as part of a school project. Since then, I have tried to keep posting some content on this site until I found a partner, writer, or even buyer.
Richard approached me a couple of weeks ago about obtaining Inside Dirt Racing’s Facebook page. I offered him the option of obtaining the Inside Dirt Racing name and domain. He has agreed to take over both. The Facebook page will be managed by him. Sometime within the next week or so, InsideDirtRacing.com will forward to his Motorsports Report site where he will continue to publish stories as he has been for the last 15 years.
As for me, I will continue my photography as I enjoy that and being around the competitors, track owners, and series directors. I have other things in the works that are yet to be finalized. I may start another site for blogs about all of racing and sports. I’m open to discuss new options from writing to photography to some sort of management role with a track or series. I want to thank everyone that has support this site for the last 10+ years. Maybe someday, IDR will live again and be its own site. In the meantime, you can follow me on Facebook or X and follow Richard’s endeavor.
Thanks,
Michael Moats
