The heat race lineups have been established for one of Dirt Late Model racing’s crown jewel events set to take place on Saturday evening at the historic Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
Heat race lineups are determined by the number points drivers earn during the racing action during the Thursday and Friday night preliminaries. The points leader at the end of Friday’s racing then spun a wheel to determine what the invert for the heat race lineups would be.
After Jonathan Davenport spun the invert wheel on Friday night, it was determined that the first three positions in the heat race starting order would be inverted. As far as the top drivers in the standings following the Thursday and Friday racing action were concerned, it was the best possible outcome considering that three was the lowest number on the wheel.
The top-3 finishers from each of the six 15-lap heat races will be locked into the Dirt Late Model Dream feature. Those who finish outside the top-3 will compete in B-main contests that will be used to determine the remainder of the starting grid.
The 29th annual Dirt Late Model Dream will pay $129,000 to the winner following 100 laps on the clay-surfaced half-mile oval.
