Dale McDowell, Sam Seawright lead National 100 preliminaries at EAMS

Dale McDowell was the overall fast qualifier at EAMS

The preliminary events are complete for one of the South’s most historic dirt racing events. The 46th running of the National 100 will take place on Sunday at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL. Two-time National 100 winner Dale McDowell earned the $3,000 award sponsored by Zaxby’s for setting the overall fast time in qualifying among a field of 23 entrants.

Sam Seawright led Group A qualifying with a lap of 15.785 seconds around the 3/8 mile clay oval beating out Jason Hiett, Dalton Cook, Dennis Erb Jr., and Ahnna Parkhurst.

Dale McDowell was quickest in Group B time-trials and overall with a time of 15.761 seconds to top Brandon Overton, Joseph Brown, Joseph Joiner and Dana Eiland.

Sam Seawright took the win in the first heat race by outrunning Brandon Overton, Christian Hanger, Dennis Erb Jr., Matthew Turner and Steven Roberts.

Dale McDowell was victorious in the second preliminary race ahead of Dalton Cook, Rodney Martin, Kyle Courtney, Joseph Biddle and Joseph Joiner.

Joseph Brown grabbed the checkered flag in the third and final heat over Jason Hiett, Ahnna Parkhurst, Parker Martin, Patrick Michel and Drew Benfield.
