When someone who didn’t see the race saw that Brad Sweet led every lap in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series-sanctioned Federated Auto Parts Showdown at Sharon Speedway they might assume it was a boring race. That assumption, however, would be wrong as ‘The Big Cat’ found himself constantly fighting off challenges from David Gravel and Giovanni Scelzi before finally taking the checkered flag.
The Kasey Kahne Racing driver from Grass Valley, California earned $10,000 for his win on the track located in Hartford, Ohio in a race shown live by DirtVision.com.

Feature Re-cap: At the start of the 30-lap feature it was Sweet who went to the lead with Scelzi, Gravel, Holmes and Haudenschild in arrears. On the second lap, Haudenschild made a move to grab fourth away from Holmes but the top-5 would then hold station for the next several laps.
By lap 9, the leaders had caught the tail of the field which allowed Scelzi to run Sweet down and begin to challenge for the lead. Just behind, Gravel also closed in to make it a three car race for the lead.
As the show reached the halfway point, Scelzi was trying the low line in hopes of finding enough traction to get around the topside running Sweet. Several times, Scelzi would put a nose out front but was never able to complete the pass for the lead.
Gravel then moved up to give it a try as he passed Scelzi for second on lap 22. The No. 2 made an attempt to get under the No. 49 as the race approached the 5-to-go point. But like Scelzi, Gravel was never able to complete the pass.
In the end, it was Sweet who would claim victory.
