After months of speculation, Crossville Raceway is officially under new ownership. The announcement came Saturday.

Following the sudden passing of co-owner Buddy Sheehan, Crossville Raceway had been the source of rumors of a possible ownership change. It appeared a group that purchased the nearby dragstip was close to buying the 1/3-mile clay oval. But that did not materalize.

Perry Delaney and Lewis Jackson have purchased Crossville Raceway with plans for racing in 2016. Delaney is an area racer who won several races at Crossville Raceway in 2013 and 2014. Jackson is also a former racer from the middle Tennessee area. The two have tabbed Michael Luna and Scott Shelton to assist in operating the track.

Since the track opened in the mid 80’s, Crossville Raceway has been one of the premier facilities in the state. A series of ownership changes over the last 20 years have kept the track in limbo for much of that time.

According to a press releases, a number of improvements are planned for the facility, especially some much needed safety improvements.

Inside Dirt Racing will continue to follow developments as they come.
