Classes in action: Southern Nationals Super Late Models for $3,500-to-win(35 laps), Crate/Limited Late Models for $1200-to-win and A-Hobby for $500-to-win.
*These updates will primarily focus on the Southern Nationals and Crate/Limited Late Model races. Other updates may be limited in favor of obtaining photos and/or stories.
General Information: Racing is expected to begin at 7:00pm.
Weather is predicted to be hot with only a slight chance for an isolated thundershower.
Donald McIntosh and Billy Ogle, Jr. are tied for the lead in the series standings with Casey Roberts well within striking distance.
NASCAR stars Austin and Ty Dillon are expected to be on hand.
6:50- A very light sprinkle has moved in but it doesn’t appear to be a serious threat.
7:10- Drivers meeting underway.
7:20- Track prep could take a bit longer due to a heavy shower that moved through around 4pm this afternoon.
7:45- Hot laps underway.

Lap 2 caution for spin by T Dillon. Roberts leads A Dillon, Hickman, A Smith, Weaver, Dotson, Vosbergen, Ames, Perry, Hill, McIntosh, Ogle.
Lap 10 caution as Johnson hits wall after blowing a tire. He had moved up to 6th. Still Roberts leading over A Dillon, Hickman, Weaver, A Smith, Dotson, Vosbergen, Ames, Hill, Ogle,Perry, McIntosh
Lap 15 caution for Perry stalled on track. Leaders had just caught lappers. Top-5 still the same. Track is wide open right out against the wall.
Two cars get jammed up on the restart to bring out another caution. Looks to be Boles and Welshan.
Lap 23 caution as Ames hits the turn one wall. Roberts leads A Dillon, Hickman, Weaver, A Smith, Dotson, Vosbergen, Ogle, Hill, Payne, McIntosh, Hiett, Boles
On successive laps(26 & 27) Hickman and A Smith fell back after slipping out of the groove. Weaver was charging at the end.
This was the first time Roberts had ever raced at Boyd’s.

On the initial start, Fields spins. Gifford had almost lost control but was able to keep from spinning.
Lap 9 caution for Fields stopped on track. Ridley had been pulling away. Hickman is second. Gifford is third after a couple of exchanges with Coffman. Hedgecock rounds out the top-5.
Race ran caution free after lap 9. Ridley pulled away. Best battle was 4th- 6th.
