This week’s Quick Six looks at some big happenings over the weekend.
1. Billy Ogle Jr. showed he still has it as a driver after this World of Outlaws win at Tazewell Speedway. Ogle has wins in the Hav-a-Tampa Dirt Series, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
2. Randy Weaver proved he’s a force on the national scene. Weaver beat some of the best in the business with his win at Virginia Motor Speedway to collect $20,000.
3. The UCRA crate series is off to a great start with car counts averaging 60 cars in the first two events.
4. Cory Hedgecock continues to dominate the limited late model division at Smoky Mountain Speedway.
5. Kudos to Brian and Carol McLeod for their 30 years of covering dirt late model racing. The sport is losing out by no longer having them around.
6. Media members should not cheerlead for drivers (including yours truly).
