The Cookeville Speedway, formerly known as Tennessee Motor Speedway, is on the auction block. Inside Dirt Racing has learned the auction will take place on Saturday, May 9. Mills Auctions of Scottsville, Kentucky will be conducting the auction. The 3/8-mile track has mostly sat idle over the last 10 years. The track was re-opened for a brief time when the name was changed to Cookeville Speedway. In the late 90’s and early 2000’s, the track hosted events sanctioned by the Southern All-Stars, Tennessee Thunder DirtCar Series, and a number of unsanctioned events.
