The drivers meeting is scheduled for 7:00 with hot laps to begin around 7:20.
Weather:
Weather is very warm with a slight chance for scattered thunderstorms in the late evening.
General Information:
*Note: This is my first trip to Ponderosa so my ability to provide live updates cannot be guaranteed until I am certain of cell reception. Also, due to the significant driving time involved, I plan to focus the bulk of these updates on the Ultimate Supers.
The $10,001-to-win purse makes this the richest race on the Ultimate Super Late Models circuit although the series does have other $10,000-to-win races.
Dennis ‘Rambo’ Franklin currently leads the Ultimate SLM standings over Jeff Smith, Brandon Overton, Doug Sanders and Jonathan Edwards.
*Just arrived. Cell reception is a bit spotty but it looks like it will work.
6:55- Drivers being called to drives meeting.
Riley Hickman is here driving the Warrior house car.
7:30- Hot laps have begun.
10:10- A few rain drops are falling but not enough to halt the action.
10:25- Rain really picking up. We may be in trouble here.
10:35- The race has not been officially called but with significant rain continuing to fall, we have made the decision to leave.
Photos: I often post pictures on my @RichardAllenIDR Twitter account if you would like to take a look.
