This edition of the Quick Six looks at some various items over the last several weeks in racing.
- It would be nice to see the various series adjust the number of laps to coinside with the size of the track. For instance, a 50-lap race at Tazewell goes by a lot faster than a 50-lap race at Smoky Mountain.
- It has been a number of years since a $10,000 to win race in this area drew 45 cars.
- The number one thing a promoter needs to do is to go around and thank every driver of every team that show up to race at his or her track. Without the racers, all the promoter has is a big pile of dirt with some bleachers.
- Looks like the controversy concerning shocks and suspensions around big-time dirt late model racing is far from over. And it probably never will be.
- There is no excuse for a driver not to know when it’s his or her time to line up to race.
- Memorial Day weekend is one of the great weekends for racing. Too bad we don’t have any great racing events in East Tennessee during that weekend.
