While a number of the competitors on hand for this Saturday’s(February 27) Frostbuster 50 at 411 Motor Speedway may have previously turned laps at the facility located in Seymour, Tenn., there has been a significant change made to the racing surface since the last time cars roared around the clay oval. New dirt has been applied to the 3/8 mile track since the running of ‘The Hangover’ race back on New Year’s Day.
Recent Facebook posts have detailed the work being done as track owners Mitch and Tanya McCarter continue the process of constantly upgrading 411 for both racers and fans alike.
Much of the work involved was completed this past Saturday. The track’s Facebook page stated that it was paramount for the project be completed at that time due the threat of rain for the days following.
Here is part of the post made to the track’s Facebook page:
“Gotta give props to the track crew yesterday for a long days work getting the track run in after applying the new dirt. Our goal was to beat the rain and get it packed as much as possible. Mission accomplished. We’ll still have plenty of work to do this week but we’re off to a very good start.”
And:
“A lot of work has been going on with the facelift of 411 some you can’t see and some you can such as the new parking at the drag strip. There’s more to come and please when you see Tanya and Mitch thank them for what they’re doing to make 411 Motor Speedway the Best it can be. Just remember Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will 411 but we’re getting there slowly but surely.”
The Frostbuster 50 will feature a Southern Nationals Bonus Series 5o-lap race for Super Late Models paying $7151-to-win along with racing in the Crate Late Model, Sportsman, Street Stock and Mini Stock classes. The drivers meeting is slated for noon with hot laps to begin shortly thereafter.
A practice session is scheduled for Friday night(February 26) from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
