411 Motor Speedway to stage Spring Sizzler on Saturday

SEYMOUR, TENNESSEE (May 13, 2020) — 411 Motor Speedway track promoter Mitch McCarter and family will present a great night of racing on Saturday May 16 at the popular Seymour, Tenn. clay oval that will see a 40-lap Super Late Model event that will pay $5,000 to win, with the event being broadcast live on DirtonDirt.com and FloRacing.

The event will feature Super Late Models only in a full program of practice, time trials, dash, qualifying heat races, and the 40-lap, $5,000 to win main event. Promoter Ray Cook of the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series and crew will be on hand to handle technical inspection and race direction. Pit passes will be $40.00. The grandstands will be closed for this event.

There will be an open practice at the track on Saturday morning May 16 for all weekly divisions (including Super Late Models) that compete at 411 Motor Speedway that will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  The pits will be cleared at 2:15 pm. Cost for practice is $20.00 per person. The broadcast for the Saturday night Spring Sizzler event is set to air at 7:30 p.m.

Special precautions due to the Covid-19 pandemic will be in place during the night of competition with no race fans allowed to attend the event and track officials enforcing strict social-distancing measures for each of the race teams in attendance. Each race team will be required to park at least 10 feet away from each other to ensure space between attendees.

411 Motor Speedway track promoter Mitch McCarter has been in direct contact with the proper officials in Sevier County in order to clear his plan to open 411 Motor Speedway for racing in a manner that follows all guidelines and recommendations amid the coronavirus crisis. In addition, local law enforcement officials will be on the grounds with deputies the night of the event to ensure proper social distancing measures will be enforced.

The event will follow Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series rules, with the droop rule in effect and the following will be the tire rules for the event:  Hoosier 1350 and 1600 and American Racer 48 and 56 (no 29.0’s on the left rear).  The entry fee will be $110 per car (includes transponder rental) and $50.00 tow money will be paid to any car not making the field of 22.

A talented mix of national touring, regional and local drivers will invade the three-eighths mile clay oval in eastern Tennessee for this special Saturday night event. Among the drivers scheduled to compete are Jimmy Owens, Billy Moyer Jr., Vic Hill, Riley Hickman, Michael Chilton, Dalton Cook, Jake Knowles, Logan Roberson, Zach Leonhardi, Camaron Marlar, Donald McIntosh, Casey Roberts and a host of other drivers. A complete list of expected entrants will be released Friday evening.
