411 Motor Speedway set for biggest season in the track’s history

Cory Hedgecock won last year’s WoO Late Models race at 411

The Hangover race set for this Saturday at 411 Motor Speedway serves as somewhat of a transition as one curtain comes down on the 2018 season and another rises to kick off what looks to be a spectacular 2019 for the Mitch and Tanya McCarter-owned facility. The 3/8 mile clay oval located in Seymour, Tenn. will play host to some of the most lucrative events in the track’s history as national touring series, regional touring series, and special events for regular weekly competitors will be on tap during the coming year.

This weekend’s Hangover will feature a $4,000-to-win main event with Crate Late Models racing for a $1,500-to-win purse and the Open Wheel Modified class vying for a $1,200 first prize. Sportsman Late Models, Modified Streets, and Classics will also compete in the final race to be held in east Tennessee on the 2018 calendar.

But after the calendar trips over to 2019, the pace will certainly pick up. After spending last season splitting time between 411 and the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn. the track’s management staff will now spend all of their energy promoting events solely at 411.

Highlighting the upcoming season will be the first ever visit to 411 by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series as that national series will contest a $12,000-to-win event on April 5th along with the second trip to the east Tennessee track by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series as those competitors race for $10,000-to-win on October 5th.

Another pair of five-digit winner’s purses will be paid out as two of promoter Ray Cook’s regional tours come to 411. Cook’s Spring Nationals and Chris Tilley’s Iron-Man Championship Series will co-sanction the $10,052-to-win Scott Sexton Memorial on May 27th while the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals will roll into Seymour as part of that mid-summer mini-series on July 26th.

Several events paying $3,000 or more will be intertwined with the track’s weekly championship points races all throughout the season with the traditional Leftover and Hangover events going off in November and December of next year bringing the season to a close. More information regarding the upcoming schedule can be seen below.
