INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 8, 2017)—The 2018 schedules for the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series, the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series and the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series were revealed on Friday Morning during the 30th Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show in Indianapolis, Ind. Total purses, points funds and nightly bonuses are nearly $900,000 for the three tours making it the largest set of regional tours in the country.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V. two-week tour will be entering its 14th season. Toccoa (Ga.) Speedway joins the tour for the first time on Thursday July 19th paying $3,500-to-win. A former track returning to the schedule includes a Monday July 16th stop to Volunteer (Tenn.) Speedway for a 35-lap and $3,500-to-win race. Three events pay $10,000-to-win on the 11-race tour. Tazewell Speedway is the only track to host an event every season for what will now be the 14th time. Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga. is the defending series champion.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V. will be entering the sixth season of competition in 2017. Senoia Raceway will start the series schedule for the first time in Georgia with a double-header on March 30-31. Tazewell Speedway joins the series for the first time for a $10,000-to-win event on April 7th. 411 Motor Speedway also joins the tour for the first time on April 13th paying $5,000-to-win. Brandon Overton of Evans, Ga. is the defending series champion.
On the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V., which is entering its fifth full season of competition, features 15 scheduled dates from March until November with a couple of TBA dates. The series will co-sanction five events with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series in 2018. New tracks on the tour include: Toccoa (Ga.) Raceway, Lake Cumberland (Ky.) Speedway and Volunteer (Tenn.) Speedway. The series schedule is highlighted by five-$10,000-to-win events. Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. is the defending Bonus Series points champion.
