Volunteer Speedway getting new dirt surface

Track owner Joe Loven is looking to make improvements to the racing surface at Volunteer Speedway and new clay is being brought in to the track located in Bulls Gap, Tenn. to provide exactly that. The facility, which typically conducts a number of Dirt Late Model feature races each season and has played host to various national touring series such as the World of Outlaws Late Models and WoO Sprint Cars as well as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and a number of regional sanctioning bodies, will likely add a race to its 2016 schedule on October 29th to provide an opportunity for area racers to test the new surface.

As many as 40 dump truck loads of new dirt will be applied to the track surface by the time the project has been completed.

In a press release posted to VolunteerSpeedway.com, track officials stated their belief that the 4/10 mile track will not only be better, but faster.
