Trevor Sise broke through with a big $2,000 Limited Late Model victory at the Volunteer Speedway on July 26th. It was his first win on the Bulls Gap, Tenn. track. And now, the young Knoxville driver is ready to claim an even bigger payday on the third-mile facility.

This Friday night, the Volunteer Speedway will put up $4,000-to-win for the most lucrative Limited Late Models race of the season in this area to date.

“We’ve had a really good season so far,” Sise explained. “We’ve had a lot of seconds, I think we’ve finished second five times. But our luck finally turned around a couple of weeks ago and we got us a win. Now we’re looking forward to getting back up there again to defend that win and hopefully get ourselves $4,000.”

Sise has had speed in his car all season. He has started from the front row on several occasions in 2014 and he even made history for the Limited Late Model class at Volunteer prior to his recent win.

“It feels good to unload fast,” Sise declared. “We went out there and set a track record two weeks ago at Bulls Gap so that was pretty cool.”

This season the Limited Late Models have not always had an easy time finding places to race so Sise is happy for the opportunity to compete in upper east Tennessee.

“I’m glad Bulls Gap lets us run up there and they pay really good,” Sise said. “It’s been for $2,000-to-win at least every time we’ve been up there. And they pay really good throughout the field as well.”

Sise currently drives a Knoxville built Warrior Race Car with a Vic Hill Racing Engine under the hood in the Steelhead division. But someday he hopes to race on an even higher level.

“I’m happy where we are right now,” the driver of the No. 73 said. “We’re learning, but we plan to jump up to the supers in a couple of years, or maybe even next year. We’ll probably try to run some of those big shows when the time comes.”
