Quick Six: Driver, fan safety and racetrack issues

quick6

This edition of the Quick Six blog has some random offerings.

  1. Anyone in the pit area or infield at any racetrack should always pay attention to their surroundings, especially when cars are running.
  2. It is much appreciated anytime a track puts down water in the infield and pit area to keep the dust down for everyone.
  3. A track owner that reschedules a series race against another track in an area where most series drivers are from is not a smart idea.
  4. Safety should be the #1 priority of all racers and racetracks on any level in any form of racing.
  5. It is good to see a number of series take the initiative on driver safety in wake of the tragic accident in Ohio. It’s a shame it takes a tragedy like that one to get things done.
  6. It’s been said before in this blog. It would be nice if scoreboard operators at all tracks would use the last 2 digits of a race car with three digits. It’s much easier that way to figure out which driver it is they have posted.
