InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates for the Scott Sexton Memorial Spring Nationals Super Late Model Series race from Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn. on Friday evening, April 28, 2017. These updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

Classes in action: Spring Nationals Super Late Models for $10,052-to-win(52 laps), Crate Late Models for $1,500-to-win(30 laps), Sportsman and Modified Street.

*Please Note: These updates will focus primarily on the Spring Nationals Super Late Models and Crate Late Models. Any other updates will be dependent on a number of factors including obtaining photos and/or stories related to that event.

General Information:

Drivers meeting is set for 7:00pm with racing action to begin soon afterward.

Brandon Overton currently leads the Spring Nationals standings over Donald McIntosh, Michael Chilton, Shanon Buckingham and Ricky Weiss.

The race is named in the honor of the late Scott Sexton, who won many races throughout east Tennessee and the region.

*Marlar took the lead on the start and won by a straightaway. Close racing for 2nd- 4th.

Heat 2 Finish- 1. Owens, 2. Wells, 3. McCreadie, 4. S Marlar

*Big crash on the start when Wells spun in turn two and collected S Marlar, B Ogle, Overton and C Ogle. All but both Ogles continued. Wells took the initial lead but Owens passed him on lap 8 of 10.

*Chilton took the lead on the start. Intense racing between Shirley and Douglas just behind the top-4.

*Madden and McIntosh traded a couple of slide jobs on the first lap before Madden pulled away.

Marlar was great in traffic. Madden was never able to close up. McDowell was coming on strong at the end.

Lap 14 caution. Trammell has led from the start. Maupin moved around Henderson for second just before the caution. Crittenden and Elliott round out the top-5. Leaders were in heavy traffic before the caution.

Caution before a lap is completed for Maupin. There had been contact between he and Henderson on the restart. Maupin placed back in second.

Another caution as the leaders again mix it up on the restart.

Lap 22 caution for Thompson. Really getting intense from 2nd back. Trammell leads Henderson, Elliott, Maupin, Crittenden, Hicks, Henry, Ballenger
