InsideDirtRacing.com will be providing live updates from the Spring Nationals race from the Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA on Friday evening, May 27, 2016. These updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

Classes in action: Spring Nationals Super Late Models for $4,000-to-win(40 laps); Crate Late Models for $1,500-to-win; Sportsman for $600-to-win.

*Please Note: While every effort will be made to update all events, the primary focus of these updates will be on the Super & Crate Late Models. Should a situation arise in one of those divisions that warrants additional coverage(post-race interview, photos or otherwise), the attention of the updater may be briefly drawn away from other classes. That said, we will provide as much information as possible in both the updates and the final race write-up.

General Information: Drivers meeting is slated for 6:30 with hot laps to begin soon thereafter.

Weather is expected to be warm with only a slight chance of showers.

Qualifying Results: Cars will be divided into two qualifying groups with the top-2 from each group going to a dash race.

Group A Results – 1. M Marlar(13.709), 2. Lloyd… McIntosh

Group B Results – 1. Madden(13.597), 2. S Marlar… McDowell

*Madden crashed on his second qualifying lap after experiencing apparent brake trouble.

Heat Race Results: There will be four heat races transferring the top-4 from each to the feature.

Heat 1 Finish: 1. McIntosh, 2. Croft, 3. Wood, 4. Boles… Buckingham

*Very good race with quite a bit of mixing it up on a two groove track.

Heat 2 Finish: 1. Hickman, 2. Ellis, 3. Payne, 4. Roberts…Perry

*Another really good race as the top-4 mixed it up over all ten laps.

Heat 3 Finish: 1. McDowell , 2. Kinzer, 3. Manley, 4. A Smith… Brooks

*McDowell dominated that one.

Heat 4 Finish: 1. Hiett, 2. Knowles, 3. Horton, 4. Moses… Mason

*Hiett was dominant.

Dash Race Results: 1. M Marlar, 2. S Marlar, 3. Lloyd

*Madden was unable to make it for the dash but looks like he will make the feature.

Third starting Lloyd pulls off track during pace laps.

11:00- Green flag! Lloyd joined the field at the tail.

*Correction: Lloyd kept his original starting spot.

Lap 8 caution for the stalled car of Croft. M Marlar leads. Madden came to second on the initial start but has pulled off track. S Marlar, McIntosh, Hickman and McDowell follow the leader.

Race ran caution free after lap 8 as the leaders carefully worked through slower traffic.

Lap 1 caution for a spin. Perry leads Skinner, Hickman, Pearl and Roland.

Lap 7 caution. The top-3 of Perry, Skinner and Hickman running in very tight formation.

Lap 15 caution for a spin. Hickman made a move through the middle between Perry and Skinner on lap 8 and eventually took the lead on lap 10. Skinner is second followed by Perry, Pearl and Ownbey.

Lap 17 caution for second running Skinner stopped on track. Hickman leads Perry, Ownbey, Deal and Brindle.
