Classes in action: Super Late Models for $4,053-to-win(51 laps)

*These updates will focus solely on the Southern Nationals Bonus Series race due to spotty cell reception in the area.

General Information: The drivers meeting is slated for 7:00pm with hot laps to follow.

Weather is expected to be warm and clear.

Donald McIntosh leads the current Southern Nationals Bonus Series standings over David Payne, Joey Standridge and Billy Ogle, Jr.

Previous winners of this race(known as the Tarheel 50) include Jonathan Davenport, Casey Roberts and David Payne.

7:00- Drivers meeting about to begin.

7:20- Hot laps about to begin for all classes.

7:55- Hot laps have concluded. Qualifying coming soon.

Ray Cook says a major announcement will be made prior to the Southern Nationals Bonus feature.

The Tarheel 50 on September 28, 2018 will pay $10,000 to win for a one-day show.

Lap 1 caution for spin by Rucker. Roberts leads McIntosh and S Chastain

Lap 6 caution for incident involving Collins, J Chastain and Spencer. Roberts leads S Chastain, Payne, McIntosh, Dixon, English. Chastain was pressuring Roberts for the lead.

Lap 20 caution for Sanders slow on track. S Chastain took the lead from Roberts on lap 18. Roberts is second followed by Payne, McIntosh, Dixon, English, Tankersley, Collins.

Lap 21 caution for spin fifth running Dixon. Payne had been under Roberts for second but the caution negated the move.

Lap 22 caution as second running Roberts pulls off track with a flat tire. S Chastain leads Payne, McIntosh, English and Tankersley.

Roberts rejoins in 10th.

Lap 35 caution for sixth running Tankersley stopped on track. S Chastain leads Payne, McIntosh, English, Collins. Collins was making good time on the outside.

Lap 44 caution for multi car spin. S Chastain continues to lead. Battle between Payne, McIntosh, Collins and English was intense for 2nd- 5th.

Unbelievable finish as Payne caught Chastain on the last lap and passed him going into turn 3 but slid up the track allowing Chastain to come back inside and win the drag race back to the line.
