We will be providing live updates from the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series from the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN for Thursday night, August 21, 2014. Tonight’s updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter).

Weather is very warm with a slight chance for scattered thunderstorms.

General Information:

Jimmy Owens leads the LOLMDS standings over Don O’Neal, Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis, Eddie Carrier, Jr., Earl Pearson, Jr. and John Blankenship.

Owens has won five LOLMDS features since July 3rd.

Heat 1 Results- 1. Bloomquist, 2. Blankenship, 3. Jacobsen, 4. Francis, 5. C Ogle, 6. Landers… Owens was 7th and have to race in the B-main or take a provisional.

Heat 2 Results- 1. McDowell, 2. Madden, 3. Neat, 4. B Ogle, 5. Hill, 6. Hughes

Heat 2 Results- 1. Carrier, 2. Pearson, 3. O’Neal, 4. Marlar, 5. Erb, 6. Welshan

All three heats ran caution free.

B-main Results: Only one B-main. The top-4 will transfer.

10:00- Four wide!

10:05- Green flag!

Lap 1 caution for debris. Bloomquist leads McDowell, Blankenship and Pearson. Debris was drive shaft out of Madden car.

Caution just after the restart as it appeared Bloomquist slowed suddenly in front of the whole pack. Carrier piled in hard and very nearly rolled over. Jacobsen and Pearson also involved. Possibly a tire down on the 0 car.

Bloomquist is back out. Francis was also involved and has returned to the track.

McDowell leads Blankenship, Marlar, O’Neal, B Ogle, Hill on lap 2. Carrier is back out as is Pearson.

Lap 12 caution for Carrier(McDowell almost involved). McDowell leads Blankenship, Marlar, O’Neal, B Ogle, Landers, Erb, Owens.

Lap 23 caution for Leake. Still McDowell over Blankenship, Marlar, Landers, ONeal, Erb, B Ogle. Top-5 spaced out but fierce battle behind them.

Owens just dropped out.

Bloomquist charging. Already back to 5th.

Feature Results: 1. McDowell, 2. Marlar, 3. Blankenship, 4. Bloomquist, 5. Landers, 6. O’Neal, 7. B Ogle, 8. Jacobsen.

McDowell controlled the race after Bloomquist had his early trouble. Bloomquist made a big charge to get back to 4th from the rear.

Owens reports that he had transmission issues.
