We will be providing live updates from the United Sprint Car Series and NeSmith Crate Late Model races as well as support classes from the 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN for Friday night, May 2, 2014. Tonight’s updates are being provided by Richard Allen( @RichardAllenIDR on Twitter ).

Classes in action: 

United Sprint Car Series

NeSmith Crate Late Models for $1,000-to-win.

Sportsman for $500-to-win.

Mini Stocks for $400-to-win.

Time:

Drivers meeting is slated for 6:00pm(eastern) with hot laps to begin soon afterward.

Weather: 

Weather is excellent with partly cloudy skies and daytime highs in the upper 60s.

General Information:

Veteran racer Terry Gray is the current leader in the USCS standings.

Gray’s teammate, Morgan Turpen, was the winner in the most recent USCS feature race on pavement in Kenley, NC.

USCS is the only sprint car series that races on both dirt and pavement.

Adam Beeler leads Ryan King and Rusty Ballenger in the 411 NeSmith Crate Late Model standings. Beeler has already won three times this season on the track, including two of the three points paying races.

Order of events:

Qualifying for Late Models(2 laps) and Sprint Cars.

Heat Races- Sportsman(6 laps), Mini Stocks(6 laps), Sprints.

There will be a B-main for Late Models if there are more than 20 cars.

9:25- Cars being lined up for the feature.

9:30- Cars getting pushed off.

9:35- Four wide!

Green flag!

Huge crash on lap 1. Turpen took a very hard hit. Crews working to get her out of the car. Murray, Witherspoon, Moss among those involved.

One of the track workers appears to have suffered a minor injury after being hit by debris.

Turpen is out of the car. Preliminary indications are that she is OK.

77 year old Ray Bugg being treated by emergency crews. He will be transported by ambulance.

Turpen complained of a knee injury.

All other drivers appear to be OK.

It appeared as if Moss and Turpen got together going into three and the cars locked together. Both cars went up the banking and slammed the outside wall. Turpen’s car climbed the fence then tumbled back to the track surface. She was inside the car for about 10 minutes before being extricated.

It looks as if 14 cars remain.

10:06- Cars being pushed off.

Green flag back out.

Lap 16 caution for 26. Gray passed Riggins for the lead on lap 14. Nicholson got around Riggins on the next lap. Currently Gray, Nicholson, Riggins.

Terry Gray pulled away after the last restart to claim the win over Nicholson, Smith, Bridges and Riggins.

Crate Late Models

Qualifying underway. McMahan hits the wall pretty hard on his second lap. Appears to be OK, but car is damaged.

Late Model feature cut to 20 laps due to time constraints.

King wins over Beeler, Coffman, Welshan, Hedgecock, Elliott.
