Hangover race at 411 Motor Speedway reset for December 30

The Hangover has become a yearly tradition as race fans from east Tennessee and beyond ring in the new year each January 1st with some dirt track racing action. This year, however, Mother Nature has intervened and forced the event to be moved to Saturday, December 30, 2017.

Forecast high temperatures for the originally scheduled date of Monday, January 1st are only expected to reach the mid-20’s. As a result, track owner Mitch McCarter and his staff have made the call to run the race two days ahead of schedule in hopes of taking advantage of a somewhat better weather forecast.

The racing schedule for the Hangover remains the same with Iron-Man Super Late Models competing for $4,000-to-win with the Crate Late Model division fighting for a $1,500-to-win purse. Iron-Man Open Wheel Modifieds will race for $1,200-to-win with Sportsman Late Models, Mod Lites and Modified Street races also on the docket for Saturday.

The drivers meeting is slated for 11:45am with hot laps and racing action set to begin shortly thereafter. Grandstand tickets are priced at $20 with children under 12 granted free admission. Pit passes will cost $35 with kids under 12 admitted into the pits for $15 with a signed release.
